We highly recommend our valued clients to purchase strong boxes and containers that have capability to secure their goods tight to avoid breakages. Electrical goods such as video games, VCR, DVD players, flat screen TV etc should be placed in their original boxes. During Preparation we advise our clients the following hints:

  • preparationMedications such as Insulin vials should be placed in a leak proof container and carried by the client in case of any eventuality.
  • Client to carry all valuable items such as purse, jewellery etc.
  • Cushion Contents with bubble wrap, newspapers, clothing material such as a blanket to avoid friction on any housewares.
  • Label clearly the boxes with a permanent marker on the side of the boxes a short descriptive of the contents and room to be placed when off loading eg. “SHOES – Master Bedroom.”                                    NB: Do Not Overfill Boxes
  • It is VERY IMPORTANT that the client identifies the boxes with fragile items by clearly marking them “FRAGILE” or indicating an “UPRIGHT POSITION” by drawing arrows on each side of the box.
  • Place heavier items on the bottom of the box and light items on top to avoid breakages.  It is a wise idea to TAPE all the boxes on the bottom to avoid spillage upon lifting and fill all the way to the top then seal tape tight to make stacking stable and steady during transit. It is imperative that all boxes are filled totally to the top before sealing tape tight. In the event that one or more boxes are not filled all the way to the top, clients can fill with newspapers, towels or any clothing material in order to maintain the shape and avoid deforming the box while stacking which could result in damaging goods.
  • We do not carry Explosives such as propane, diving tanks, ammunition, flares, fireworks, beer, wines or chemistry sets for safety reasons and in compliance with the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
